As part of our cultural development, children are given opportunities to explore their own cultural assumptions and values. Our role in school is to provide opportunities for children to participate in cultural events, to help them reflect on their significance, this is through literature, crafts, dance, drama, music and arts.

School council had a meeting this week. Lots of issues were discussed and ideas put forward. We'll keep you up to date with what's happening!
Callum came to talk to Class 14 about travelling to different part of the world. He taught us about different cultures. Stop 1. South America.
We have developed partnerships with individuals, out of school, to extend children's cultural awareness. This gives them an appreciation of diversity and interdependence of cultures. It also helps children develop positive and effective links with the wider community. We foster a sense of community with a common, inclusive goal. In our school we nurture a spiritual approach, where we encourage children to develop expression and/or a creative impulse.
What Is Growth Mindset? The term ‘growth mindset’ refers to a way of thinking, learning and taking on challenges. A person with a growth mindset is open to constructive criticism, takes feedback and uses it, takes on new challenges, pushes themselves outside of their comfort zone and shows resilience and perseverance. Studies show that it is people with a growth mindset (as opposed to a fixed mindset) who achieve in life, are successful in all they do and are happy. Of course, this is exactly what we want for all our children. |
